About Us

HRRAC is a leading Afghan non-governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan, under the license number 947 (2006). HRRAC is afghan medadvice.net led and Afghanistan focused organization and works since 2006 in Afghanistan.

What We Do

HRRAC works throughout Afghanistan with major focus on conflict and disasters affected areas. HRRAC fulfills its mandate by protecting the rights of populations at risk of violations and threats, as well as by conducting research, baseline studies and need assessments to shed light over the obstacles that prevent communities and marginalized groups from advancing their rights. HRRAC coordinates evidence-based advocacy actions and protection programming to raise awareness, influence the religious establishment and lawmakers, and influence policy making aiming at removing the barriers that prevent women’s and refugee’s advancement in society.  HRRAC is the only Afghan-run organization of its kind, and its widely-cited reports have informed advocacy and policy-making at domestic and international levels on issues ranging from disarmament and elections to provision of primary education, gender mainstreaming in development, labors rights, and public engagement with a focus on women’s leadership and political participation. HRRAC’s strategic aims are to raise the voice of Afghans, based on community conversations, to ensure that policy makers and leaders hear Afghans concerns and hopes, and that the basic rights of Afghans are protected.

Over the past 10 years, HRRAC has amassed a wealth of experience reaching out to senior domestic and international policy-makers through its research and advocacy programs. To stay ahead of political developments, HRRAC makes a conscious effort to improve its relationships with government officials, send работа москва representatives to most major civil society forums, and develop a plan for approaching its partners and foreign human rights organizations to undertake joint advocacy initiatives.
