Enhancing Protection, Economic Resilience, and Emergency Assistance for Vulnerable Populations in Zabul, Helmand and Nimroz provinces

HRRAC, in partnership with two women-led organizations—AWMEO in Zabul and NNAWDO in Nimroz—is leading a child protection project targeting high-risk areas. The project includes structured case management for 600 vulnerable children, each receiving $200 in cash assistance. It also involves the establishment of 12 Child-Friendly Spaces that offer psychosocial support and child protection messaging. In addition, 4,800 winter kits will be distributed to at-risk children, with a focus on those with disabilities and from high-risk households. Parenting sessions for caregivers and community engagement activities are also being conducted to raise awareness and strengthen family-based protection. Finally, the project features comprehensive capacity-building for caseworkers and staff on child protection standards, case management, and psychosocial support.
